Microneedling & MesotherapyHello Beautiful, Youthful, Rejuvenated Skin!
Microneedling is an innovative treatment providing a solution to fine lines, wrinkles, scars and acne scars as well as improvement to the overall condition of skin, tone and texture. It scientifically reduces fine lines, plumps facial volume and fades scarring using a method of introducing controlled trauma to the skin triggering release of growth factors, an increase in collagen production and elasticity in the skin.
The process involves using small needles to create tiny punctures in the skin which triggers the body’s natural wound healing response to renew skin cells, produce collagen and stimulate elastin. Creating tiny punctures also creates superficial micro-channels, which allows topical serums, and creams to be absorbed more effectively into the skin.
Microneedling treatment helps improve the appearance of:
Fine Lines and Wrinkles
Pigmentation / Uneven Skin Tone
Open pores / Improve Skin Textur

The advanced medical-grade automated micro-needling devices used at Lucy Foster Aesthetics have a much higher success rate than previous generation roller needling. Traditional rollers have a fixed needle length or penetration depth meaning you can’t tailor the treatment to target different thickness of skin tissue like you can with an automated pen device. This will allow your aesthetician to properly address the specific needs of thinner skin on your lower eyelids, crow’s feet, and forehead or thicker skin of your upper lip, décolletage and cheeks.
During your consultation, you will be talked through the procedure to ensure you fully understand everything, and you will be able to ask any questions you may have. You should also be prepared to answer questions about your medical history. You will be required to sign a consent form before undergoing the treatment.
A licensed practitioner will perform the procedure by inserting a needle a shallow depth into the skin. However, the number of injections done is entirely dependent on the individual patient. Each injection is approximately one inch away from the last. The treatment takes around 30-60 depending on the area of your body that is treated. The conditions that can be treated using Microneedling and Mesotherapy are:
- Acne scars
- Skin scarring, alopecia or stretch marks
- Collagen rejuvenation
- Skin tone and hyperpigmentation
- Face lifting
- Skin pore improvement
Any area of the body can be treated with microneedling and mesotherapy. For maximum results, the average number of sessions needed is seven. We also recommend monthly sessions to maintain your desired result.
To tackle any side effects of the treatments such as small bruising and redness, we recommend you drink plenty of water and maintain a healthy lifestyle to ensure the best results.
Also, to determine the procedure’s success, you should:
- Avoid taking part in vigorous exercise for the first 48 hours
- Not apply makeup for 4 hours after the treatment
- Refrain from hot showers 8 hours after the treatment
- Wear loose-fitting clothing straight after the procedure
How long does it take to see results from Microneedling?
Some clients can feel a difference in their skin in as little as 24 hours. However, the time it takes for the body to produce new and healthy collagen and elastin is 4-6 weeks, which is when you are likely to see long-lasting results.
What is Microneedling useful for?
Microneedling is useful for fine lines, wrinkles, uneven skin tones and skin scarring issues, whether it be due to injuries or acne.
It also helps to tighten the skin, and makes everything look smoother and firmer.
How does Mesotherapy compare with other procedures?
Mesotherapy procedures can be combined with a variety of other treatments, such as dermal fillers or wrinkle-reducing injections. This is because it is not an invasive procedure. It can be used as a maintenance treatment following more advanced treatments, or as a standalone procedure.
What are the side effects?
This varies from client to client, but red skin for the first 24 hours is common. Some people experience slight bruising, but this is also temporary.
How long should I wait between treatments?
At least 4-6 weeks. This gives your skin a chance to breathe, and also gives you the chance to see results.
